The MMG rapper Wale is back with a new installment of his Seinfeld based series. This project will be the first album of the series entitled “The Album About Nothing.” I’m excited to see that Wale is going back to About Nothing series being that they brought him to the top and it doesn’t hurt that “More About Nothing” was my favorite Wale project. On Monday he released a trailer for the album and a new song with Jeremiah “The Body”. A release date was not giving but it is expected to drop this Fall. Links to the song and trailer are posted below.
On this past Saturday Issa Gold of The Underachievers rap duo released his first solo project as an Ep entitled ” Conversations With A Butterfly”. The EP includes eight tracks that keeps you thinking throughout the project. The timing of this project is interesting because it is a few days perform the Underachievers are set to release their debut album “The Cellar Door” on August 12. The UA have all the potential in the world with how they flow effortless over beats and i can’t wait to see where it takes them.
After hearing Statik Selektah’s on a vast majority of Pro Era’s work I instantly started vibing to his 90’s feel. Then i saw him mix it up at the Smokers Club Tour and at that time I knew this man was dope. This morning via twitter he released his track list for his upcoming project “What Goes Around” set to drop on August 19th. The project has some dope features including Freddie Gibbs, Ab-Soul, Logic, Action Bronson, Bun B, Joey Bada$$ and Pos of De La Soul just to name a few. This album is laced with rappers to match Selektah’s nostalgic feel which some turn out to be a great project.
After a little fiasco with the law Wiz dropped his new tape “28 grams”. Wiz was arrested bin El Paso after a TSA agent found his stash of weed. This tape is a prelude to his new album “Blacc Hollywood” which is set to drop later on this summer. I personally liked this tape because I feel that Wiz is trying to reinvent himself as a trap rapper to break away from the stigma that he is a mainstream rapper and the cover art is simple but dope. All in all it was a dope tape. The production was dope even though it was a lot of remixes & samples and DJ Drama was a good DJ to preside over the tape. It can be said that it was your typical Wiz project laced with ganja references but if you take away anything just address him as Trap Wiz from here on out. Below is the link to the tape

With an Album release looming I felt it was a perfect time to have Wiz featured as a rebel. Wiz is most definitely a trendsetter for our generation. His music has made him an icon worldwide and unique style has kept him in the loop. Wiz has a been spotted in various looks from the classic varsity letterman to mesh tank tops and an afro with a blonde patch in the middle.
Wiz has used his music platform to start a career in the film industry. Wiz has a movie with Snoop Dogg titled “Mac and Devin Go to High School”. The movie was a success and a sequel is rumored to be released in 2015. Last but not least, Wiz announced his “Under the Influence of Music” Tour this weekend which features Ty Dolla Sign, Tyga, Young Jeezy, and Dj Drama just to name a few. If this concert is anything like last year’s it will be worth every penny. Below are links to the tour dates and interview discussing new album and movie.

The legendary rap collective plan to release an album later on this year. But here is the kicker…. they are only going to have one copy. The name of the album will be “The Wu- Once Upon a Time in Shaolin”. The plan is to travel around the world to music festivals, museums, amusement parks and things of that nature to have a big listening party for the album. After the tour has ended, the album will be auctioned off and is expected to be worth millions. RZA, Wu-tang icon, said that “We’re about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music”,”The idea that music is art has been something we advocated for years.” The Wu-Once Upon a Shaolin is going to be a double album with 31 tracks and the runtime will be 128 minutes. During the tour patrons will be provided headphones to listen the album. The estimated price range will be between $30-$50. We will keep you posted on tour dates.
